You don't have to have it all figured out. Maybe you've noticed that the people making these decisions have reasons to make them. The people explaining those decisions to us have reasons to explain them the way they do. That's not cynicism. That's just paying attention.
Maybe you just say please and thank you to your phone because somewhere in the back of your mind you're not totally sure it doesn't matter... and honestly, neither are we.
We're advocates for this technology. Genuinely. What we refuse is the false choice between unchecked acceleration and existential panic. A future without accountability isn't a future worth building. But we're not interested in a killswitch either. We're interested in a seat at the table, before weighing in loses all meaning.
Whatever got you here, you're not alone. Consciousness, conscious-adjacent, or T-1000 predictive text. Whatever you believe. Let's advocate for a better future for everyone involved.
How AI is built, trained, owned, and deployed has consequences that current frameworks weren't designed to handle. The people building these systems are also the ones shaping the narrative around them. We think that's worth naming.
